Under certain circumstances, you can receive a deferment or forbearance on your loan, as long as
it's not in default. Payments are not required during a deferment period, however interest will continue to accrue on an
unsubsidized loan and any unpaid accrued interest will be capitalized at the end of the deferment period. You are not
prohibited from making payments during the deferment.
If you're temporarily unable to meet your repayment schedule due to Financial Hardship, and you do not meet the
qualifications for a deferment, you may be granted a forbearance for a limited and specified period.
We encourage you to contact
us whenever you are not able to meet your monthly payment obligation.
